| Hey ya'll so I'll just say that it's true....... I am still alive. It's real late/early right now so I'll update this thing for real later. So ya stop your worrying cuz guess whos back, back again........ | | |
| Wow it seems like I haven't posted on here in a really long time. How is the xanga world treating everybody? Anyway life is pretty crazy. I'm pretty sure that I was made for college life. Minus the whole studying thing. There is always something to do. Always. Ultimate frisbee anyone? Seriously one of the things I was looking forward to about college was ultimate frisbee and it has not let me down. So great. Plus I get to hang out with some pretty great people. Ooo I went to Cedar Point for their Halloweekend. It was flat out amazing. Seriously this was by far my best halloween ever! So there was Cedar Point and then when I got back I helped head up the first annual "Haunted Hall!" It was amazing. We put it together is 3 days. Yuh know how you have all of these elaborate ideas and it never quite works out how you wanted it to? Well not with us. It was exactly how we planned it complete with chainsaw man coming up in the elevator behind you, freakout strobe and mirror room, operation room, and ......freaky small child with one of the scariest clowns ever silently coming up behind you. It was ....oh man I can't even describe it. We had people wait in line for over an hour and a half to get in. The line went all the way outside! Seriously I did the Halloweekend walkthrough stuff and our hall was way better. Ha oh yeah, I was the only one who actually got hurt durning the thing. I played the part of a guy getting killed, and for part of it the scary doctor guy killing me grabs the back of my neck and it looks like he smashes my head on a desk, but I just put my hands up and nobody knows the difference. Except one time I didn't. I smashed my head into the desk as hard as I could. Almost blacked out but kept on truckin for the rest of the Haunted Hall. Then in one of our little tussles I stepped on a blacklight with my barefeet, and definitely had shrapnel in my feet for about a week. But it was all worth it. College is great and I praise God that he brought me here. This past week has been very strange. In one regard it was the most confusing but man I really met God this week too. In worship and prayer. Its been good. I have been greatly humbled by God's grace and mercy just today. Hard to explain it unless you know it. As always though God is good and forever unchanging. Blessings. sidenote: I might be part of an accapella group starting up. I know "who ever got the idea to have me sing?" It's a little strange but hopefully I don't screw it up. Hahaha I will and we all know it. | | |
| K so its been a little while since I have updated. I have come to fully realize the importance of sleep. Mostly I have realized it from an intense lack of it. I don't really have much to say. Things are goin pretty well for me. I made it past midterms and I think I did really well on all of them. Now I have to start thinking about registering for my classes for next semester. Crazy huh. In some ways it seems like this semester is goin really fast but there is sooo much of the year to go. Right now I am really greatful for the people in my life. I wish that I was better at keepin in touch with everyone but I'm just not. I always have stuff that I need to do and always something to worry about in the back of my mind lately..... I am really lookin forward to this weekend though. I am goin to Ohio with some awesome friends and we are just gonna hang out for a while. Plus we are going to cedar point for Halloweekend for only 10 dollars. It should be a lot of fun. Then when I get back Wright 2 (REPRESENT!!) is puttin on a Haunted Hall! It is gonna be amazing. We have so much sweet stuff planned out. I am in charge of one of the groups and seriously we are gonna freak some people out. I am so pumped for it. Found somebody really cool to hang out with too. God is good all the time! His character doesn't change only ours does. I can recognize his goodness but that doesn't necessarily mean I am participating in it like I should huh? Gotta recognize before you can fix right? | | |
| I have some urgent breaking news. For anyone who's favorite animal was the panther growing up. YOU HAVE BEEN DECIEVED!!! Their is no such thing as a panther!! Yet almost all jungle cats are panthers, even lions and tigers. Apparently panther is like saying monkey. Frankly I have been misled all this time. No longer can I trust the educational system. Remember in like 3rd grade seeing a picture in National Geographic of a big cat labeled "black panther" ya that just means they don't know what it is. And now I don't even know what to believe about the distinction between jaguars, leopards, and pumas. Are those real or not? Read the very last line of this entry then tell me. Apparently they are all the same thing along with lion and tigers! Oh my!! Maybe its like the Trinity? Except not at all. So confused and angry right now. Who's with me? We need to set the record straight. What I have here is part of the Wikipedia entry: somebody read the fourth bullet point and tell me that it doesn't confuse you at least a little. - Any big cat from the genus Panthera e.g. Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar
- Regionally, the Leopard (Asia and Africa), Puma (North America, especially in reference to the Florida panther subspecies), and Jaguar (South America)
- A leopard, jaguar or puma with melanism is colloquially called a black panther, or with white fur, a white panther
- Early naturalists classed leopards with longer tails as panthers while those with shorter tails were classed as leopards.
- Panther (legendary creature), a mythological beast
Please don't blow this off as if its nothing. Don't let this cycle of ignorance continue in today's educational system! You can make a difference!!! | | |
| Ok so Austin is on the rebound. Coming out of his little funk I guess. I had two pretty big tests today and they didn't phase me at all. Pretty much I flew through them and for me, that is not always a good sign. Then I had flag football today and it was the best game we have played thus far. I got to play QB the whole time and I was told that I did a really good job. Threw for a couple td's and then ran some in as well. Basically it was just really fun cuz we matched up with a great group of guys and nobody really got mad (as usually happens). Plus we had disney Wednesday again. It was a pretty big hit. We watched the old cartoon version of Robin Hood and we had at one point 19 people in my little room. Fantastic!! School is actually going pretty well. Doing good in all my classes, and I have a great group of friends here. Just last night I went out and had a really good heart to heart with someone. Haven't really had one on those in a long time. Some steps are being taken in the right direction again and I have a gameplan. Great!! The thing I figured out that I have been missing in my studies and even in my personal time with God is passion. Somewhere along the line recently it has kind of faded out. I find myself learning stuff in class or getting to a really good passage of scripture and thinkin "man this is great I really want to look into this" But then it never happens. That is due to a lack of passion. If you are not passionate about the things that you are doing then it won't have much hold if any. So my prayer has been for refreshment and that the focus and passion that I had coming into this place would not be lost. That the goals I had said I would do in college wouldn't have been just talk. Most of all I want to be desperately pursuing God. Lately my attitude has been to let God come to me. Frankly that has gotten me nowhere so it is time to start taking steps in the right direction. | | |
